Just a quick one, would you ne able to run injection off a normal carb tank if you fitted an external swirl pot and new lines?

Just thought Id ask lol I have a Gti tank and lines just wanting info. lol lol

its possible to run a carb tank with a feed & return on it. but if you go much below 1/2 tank, & whallop it into a right hander, you will get air into the fuel lines.. been there done that....

an spi tank with the modified astra mk3 mpi pump is a fine tank to use. & way cheaper than a swirl pot & pump setup..

the trouble with a swirl pot is where do you put it? & then you need 2 high flow pumps, one to feed it & the efi one to then feed the engine

A lift pump is fine to go into a swirl pot as it doesn't have to cope with high pressure/flow, the swirl pot acts as a buffer so only the main pump has to deal with I want 100l of fuel/min 5 seconds ago type demands from the engine.

BUT, an spi tank is still cheaper and easier for 99% of people.
