1 litre push rod?
Really you would need to give a budget and also could you afford to insure it.

27 litre Rolls Royce Merlin V12lol
What have you got now?
Supercharged B16A2 on bodies :p
Nah i'd build a x16xe turbo if it was me
one that both works & you can afford to run

1.3 or 1.4 on bikecarbs, for that money is probably your best bet Chris.
Just make sure your engines in good order beforehand.
Had more fun in that than my C16xe tbh.

throttle bodies alone will cost you more than £500, as will a turbo assuming you dont buy a shagged T25 on ebay for £50 and weld it on to an intake made of cable ties and guttering you pulled off your house.
1.6 16v for that much, and it will buy you an engine, a few materials to tidy it up and a new gasket set etc.

1.6 16v. Can extract useable power from them from what i have seen and not too heavy so the handling will still be ok.
E16SE with a F13 CR box and 4:18 diff,
Near 100bhp, cheap to buy and easy to fit, cracking acceleration,

I reckon that big blocks handle better, I think the extra weight makes the front end feel more stable and planted in the bends, while with small blocks it feels much more skitish, and like your about to come out the corner backwards lol lol

In no way at all does the extra weight fundamentally help handling in any way lol If anything it's sat lower and cambered up more, which means your camber was wrong to begin with :p
C16XE ftw
I was having a little play with my mate's 2.8T Sigum (I think same engine as Vectra VXR) and it was keeping up no problem lol
If you want cheap DIY boost then look into C20NE

And also means the dampers were setup wrong for the small block too lol

"You have lots to learn Grasshopper"lol
Sorry old phrase from "KungFu"
The extra weight of the engine/transmission in the front makes it more susceptable to understeer in cornering, front wheel drive cars are "natural understeering" cars normally;)
For £500 I'd stick a 1.6 8v in there with some money to tidy it up, nice exhaust system etc and no bodging cos you run out of money.

lol knew that would rattle some cages. Just my opinion though, Nova's always feel to light at the front, I always thought Balley's diesel felt better than my SR with the 1.4.
I know on paper the extra weight = understeering into a hedge, but in the real world it feels much better IMO

Been offered a c20xe for £250, is this a good deal. I would need to get the front engine mount. Rear gear box mount spacers. External fuel pump or a fuel tank off a nova gsi. (inline tank pump)
Then drive shafts and hubs.
Cheers
Chris
/\ whats your nova at the minute? Carb? Spi? Mpi?
And you would require welding done if a red top was going in
From past experience I would go with a 16xe there do fun to drive, can chuck them into corners

250 for an xe is a bargain at the moment snap his hand off even if it sits in your garage and doesnt get used for that money
