From what iv read up on this is you need an Astra mk3 d/td flywheel and smallblock clutch assy?

Has anyone actually done it with an f15? Iv got a fast road clutch kit for an x16xe f15 box however it was for the flat flywheel so I used an x14 fly.

What style fly is the td Astra one, pot or flat....?

I did this to run a f13 on my c20ne, it lasted 25 mile and blew up.
I used a flywheel and clutch assembly from a mk3 astra 1.7td
the flywheel has to be a VAUXHALL engine and not the isuzu engine as they are different

Was it a flat fly or pot type thow matey?

Iv seen a few threads of good and bad experiences with the f13 tbh. The f15 will be a stronger box thow right?

i THINK it was flat, it was a few years ago i did it so cant say for certain, the f15 will be stronget but in my opinion it wont last very long, i had numerous problems with inner cvs aswell. in the end i fitted an f16 as i got fed up with the hassle.
I know for a fact it has to be a vauxhall 1.7td flywheel.

Ok cheers mate, thanks for the info +rep!

Would the f15 accept standard driveshafts etc?

Iv got some "motorsport" shafts and hubs but just need cvs.

The F15 will run standard nova shafts. If you have some big block shafts, why not use them and fit an f16. You'll only need an os mount then.

Just thinking if the 1.2 nova shafts will fit first I'd just fit them.... Just to save a few quids atm I need 4cvs 2 bearings and somewhere that will press the hubs in?

Plus iv got a very good f15 mech box and a brand spanker fast road clutch so I may aswell put them to use lol

Mine ate the inner cv in about 5 minutes or driving, then the box blew after i fixed that. The 1.2 driveshafts wont last atall, as said if i was you dont waste your time and money on converting it to f15 when an f16 is just as good and supposed to be for the engine, Although i have to say when i ran an f13 it was very very fun on acceleration

i used to have an seh mated to a f13cr using a vauxhall 1.7 non furbo diesel flywheel, gearbox and shafts never gave me any issues even after 3 months of hard abuse, good cheap conversion but only problem was gear ratios, was always screaming on the motorway

The 1.7td flywheel is pot type so you need the flat type from a non turbo 1.7. You can use either but the pot one is a heavy mofo.
