One of the pipes (makred in red) is looking perished and needs to be replaced, but I need toknow what it is for before I just take it off!

I suspect it is something fuel related, but will it be pressurised with fuelif removed?

If i take it off, will it keep coming or just leak the fuel within it?

I.e. is this a job I can do on the drive or get a garage to sort it?

its a fuel pipe.

so as its a fuel pipe, it will have fuel in it

as its a fuel pipe, the contents will be rather flammable

because its a fuel pipe & you think it looks a bit dodgy, get it effing well changed straight away.. buy some 8mm fuel pipe & 2 jubilee clips & sort it, it would have taken longer to post the pic of it on the web than it will take to fix

Is it a fuel pipe then?

I'm not so sure it is a fuel pipe. You can see the feed pipe going into the pump and out again and also the return pipe which is strapped to the fuel pipe to the pump. Where does the end fo that pipe go, heading downwards but to where?

dave A it is from the fuel pump to the little swirl pot. if it brakes, it will piss fuel all over a warm engine, as it is (albeit very low) pressurised

Ah yes I see now, i'm used to the earlier type of pump!
