Nice choice. OZ's suit it!

thanks, i like the oz wheels too, but im trying to get a set of bbs ch motorsport copys for it at the moment...
Nice, good touch with the sunroof as they were not a cheap option
Is that a APY or AMK engine?
As for the wheels these are 5x100 PCD later 8p and A4 models were 5x112 so won't fit. Mine has later spec golf R32 copy wheels.
hateful cars.... Anything on the A3/Golf platform is nasty lol
the smaller and bigger cars are lovely though

thanks for the link.
but i dont really like black wheels on a red car, white car, black wheels look the dogs!!!
also as bazil says the pre-facelift s3 wheel fitment is an odd size and hard to get.

Nice car, someone else from over here as a s3 very similar to that.
My dad has a 2003 APY engine'd S3 - I'm really not really a fan, don't like how they drive.
i know a woman, who is about retirement age, with one of these, and she loves hammering local boy racers in it....
yeah im not a lover of the pre face lifts , think the later ones are nice though
looks clean though from that pic

i must say im really liking it, for the all the money it cost and the spec you get its awsome...
also the selection of mods you can get are good, to do some diy tweaks here and there :)
Badger5 TIP is a good investment, also APY doesn't have VVT
Jack, 2003 should be a 8L facelift and a 225 BAM engine??
Stuart eBay is full of those wheels mate, around £350,
If you don't have history on it then get the haldex oil and filter changed and if it's higher miles I'd get the oil pick up pipe changed, coil packs on the APY are bolt down ones and around £25 from audi
I've had mine 8 years and know my way around it quite well,
Value for money is good now, I paid £16,500 for mine lol
I honestly think they are good cars, with a few mods like camber tweeks, R32 rear arb and a good map see's you with 270 ish bhp and a car very few will beat on twist roads or in the wet.
Coil packs are now an audi re-call :)
yeah, my mistake I meant the BAM engine, doh. It is a pre-facelift though, must be early 2003 (personalized reg so don't know off hand what date..!)
[edit] Jan 2003 :) by pre-facelift, I mean before they did the massive stupid front grill thing that looks shat lol
he also had problems with the headlight levellers a few weeks back, think it was relay related - one was dancing around all over the place lol
Actually it is a facelift 8L
Newer models are 8P
John Glasgow Audi told me only push down coils were recalled ?
All goes on chassis number/engine code. If ever you want me to check pm me :)

thanks for the advice bazil, it has 142k with fsh. so going to give it a service and change the diff and gearbox oil.
timing belt was changed at 116k but will check it and maybe change it also.
whats badger5 tip and any advice on re-maps?
if you get the cambelt changed fit a metal impellored water pump at the same time
badger5 is a supplier of trick little bits, very helpful guy
the tip is the intake pipe that collapses under boost
What he said lol
Bager5 has been doing stuff for years, his turbo intake pipe was tested on Audi-sport.net ( great forum and full of info, I'm a member on there and it runs the same software as this site so very easy to navigate )
His TIP came out with improved torque figures accross the rev range on a stock S3 and was regarded better than other on the market,
At 145k I'd WIP the sump off and check the oil pick up, its a easy job, there are full how to guides on it on the Audi forum.
I've never bothered to map mine and a few lads have downloaded maps from the internet and done it themselves but the maps are poorly written and could cause serious damage,
There are a fair few recommended places dotted about so quality of work and location are the 2 main factors.
A hand tool to get is a cheap eBay code reader, at roughly £20 it's a great way to see any faults and saves wasting cash on garage visits.
A slight word of warning on maps on some software upgrades if the car gets scanned by Audi or vagcom the ecu reverts back to default settings and basicaly deletes the upgrade map !!
Here is a link to the A3/S3 8L forum
http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/17-a3-s3-forum-8l-chassis/
if you are going to remap it then i would recommend APR as its more refined than revo
Ive got a leon cupra R - BAM 225 bhp with a FMIC and remap - really happy with it, have a look at setacupra.net for more useful information on them
