engine cutting out

Hi all, iv just done a c20xe engine conversion into my corsa, its the late c20xe, iv managed to get the engine running but when I go to press the accelerator pedal the engine cuts out although this only happens when It is pressed hard but I can build the revs up if I press the accelerator pedal lightly, has anyone got any ideas on what this could be?

Have you wired up the EML yet? I had this problem and it was the AFM.

No I havnt been able to, did you just replace the afm and then it worked fine after that?

Yeah I had too because one of the metal lines were snapped but you can clean them with carb cleaner. I'd get the EML wired up first though mate and hopefully you'll have a better idea what your dealing with.

Thanks dude, I'll give that a go and see how it goes and I'll try and get the eml wired up, I'll replace the afm as I had it out yesterday and looked in quite clean

The AFM can look clean from the eye but it most likely isn't, try the carb cleaner first.
