Car is fucking shit!!!!!

Car had MOT yesterday dad says when i took it down when i go over 50 the front wheels wobble and when you put someone in the back the back ones are gonna catch.
SO he said get some spacers for the front ones and it should be ok. He went picked it up when he came back he said them wheels are no good for your car you need 14's. I said can i not ge thte wheel arches rolled he said no coz its rotting.

At the end of the day i have spent ?600 already on a car i got for my birthday last year which is a load of fucking shit

We have had people in the back when i first got it and it did and you could tell with the tread on the tyres. i dotn think i want my wheels wobbling too everytime i go over 50mph.

Couldnt afford to get the wheel arches cut out as then it would need re-spraying and would bee off the road for a while

did you find out what offset they are.

best bet would be to sell them on here or ebay and get some other im afraid with a closer offset. strange how they wobble unless 1 is buckled or you have another prob

and the rotting, well im afraid all novas do that, especially if you leave them standing

my dad has brand new corsa SXI with the full imerrser body kit, and has tryed to ge tme to take over the payments for ages but i dont want it.

No i am keeping it for now looks like i am gonna have to find some nice 14's which dont cost a bomb, i will probably keep it fo 6 month then sell it and get a brand new car of some sort.

also, the offset will be cast into the back of the wheels probably on the back of one of the spokes. just take a wheel off and have a look

The MK2 have a smaller lip on the arch so dont need rolling as much as a mk1 would. 15" should be ok Linz. Keep Them!

As for the arches its not that much work to get new ones welded in or fiberglass your old ones. I'm doing mine at the min and just drive the car round with primer on my arches :roll:

well it depends how far off her offet is

if there something like 32/35 offset thats over 10mm out and not advisable to try and space them out that much

linz basically you have bought wheels that are completely not suited to your car. the offset must be way off...

you will be able to have 15's on there but they will have to be as close to a 49 offset as possible.



Sorry to hear you so annoyed about it - jsut sell those wheels and buy some more - sure someone will be selling some.

Well i dunno the off set on the wheels but they were on an SR before that and i dont think they had bother

go and have a look, just take a wheel off and it'll say on the back. then we could say for sure if the wheels are wrong or if theres something else which may be to blame.

The clio is quite quick actually Tilly - the 1.2 wouldnt stand a chance against bigger engines but mine is CERTAINLY quicker then my 1.2 nova was - and i proved it was quicker then the girlfriends 1.2 last week as i overtook her on a dual carriageway as she was flat out...

She was trying to race me and until 60-70mph she did ok... after that though i just cruised away from her.



Up to you really linz - be a shame to see a nova go - BUT i do know someone who has just bought some 15's so will want rid of her SR 14's...
with the word vauxhall customised (painted blue lol)

Would look nice on yours actually. :D
Getting em up to newcastle might be awkward though.

and tilly you're wrong - the 1.8 16v clio's look the same as the williams but without the williams badge. SO not all clios except the williams look rubbish :D And there were several 1.8 16v models produced.

It's probably been said before, buti can't be bothered reading ALL the posts just right now. Feeling lazy.

- The wheels are of the wrong offset DEFINITELY. Are they catching on the arch itself, of on the inside arch/shock?

- With regards to wobbling, they're either seriously buckled, or your wheel bearings are fucked.

- Rotting arches - this is nothing a bodyshop can't sort out. Though it does depend on how bad it is. Most places won't roll arches on a nova because of it's age anyway (more chance of corrosion hence cracking when rolled), and would rather suggest cutting them back and sealing them up (with the corrosion inside :lol: ).
