ive fitted an X16XE from a tigra into the astra Mk2.
Ive used the full loom ECU Chip and transponder from the tigra and followed the wiring diagrams on her to wire it in too.
It fires up nut then cuts out after a second or 2
Can anyone help
I havnt fitted a VSS yet, im going to try and get one tomorrow, but i thought it should fire up without it? or am i wrong?:tard:

will run without VSS will just cut out dropping to idle (at junctions etc)

are you using the key with the chip fitted? or holding it close to the transponder?

chips taped to the astra key. its sat on axel stands with no shafts in at the mo as ive been painting the suspention and inner aches. could it be that? as the diff does spin slightly

no as theres no EML on the standard clocks, ive got a digi dash i might wire that up tmoz and get a tranducer/VSS for that so it will all be wired up. Just hope i can find one tmoz.

No choke light on the clocks? any spare warning light will do the job tbh pal. Drop me a text if your having trouble and i will come lend a hand, I've done a couple of nova x16/x14xe's and never had any bother so it can't be anything major

tape the chip to transponder and try that. that's how i've got mine set up in my nova and it fired up first time.

Get the ecu light wire onto a bulb and see if its flashing when you switch the ignition on.
Definently sounds like an immobiliser issue

I've had the chip taped to the transponder and taped to the key and it made no difference, I've also swapped the red n blue wires round on the transponder and it's
Made no difference

I've just untapped the chip and held it in position ish with my thumb and it fired up!! I'm off to get a key cut that will hold the chip inside :) looks like I'm off to the mats in the Astra now yay!
