Is there any difference between the exhaust and manifold off a nova 1.2 (carb) and a nova gte? e.g. Could an exhaust be taken off a gte and fitted to a 1.2 and vice versa? Cheers
theyre different.
my 1.4 nova has a 1.2 bolted to it at the mo - which fits but extra power means restricted a little - not as much as the GTE one would be
The higher spec ones have a 4 2 1 manifold (4 branches to 2 branches to 1 pipe - helps the gas escape quicker.
Sure the GTE pipes are bigger too

doesn't the GTE have a whole in the manifold for a sensor that runs to the ecu?
Mike Oxford has filled this up with something and used it on carbs.
Pm him or he might see this thread.
look here it answers somw questions. http://www.novaload.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=77251

the 1.2 is different from the GTE but you can swap them over if you change all the parts. The manifold and down pipes on the GTE are the 4-2-1 type.
This is a good improvement to slap one on a 1.2 but not from a 1.2 onto a gte
the gte does not have a sensor hole
you need a gte manifold, downpipe, system, backbox,
or just keep the entire 1.2 system on, but you might loose a few bhp
