complete kit to convert your nova/corsa/astra etc to the more modern cable shift setup. gives much more precise gearchanges usually only found in newer cars and also allows you to locate your gearstick in any position you want (within reach of the cables)

kit comes with:
5 speed shifter assembly, with reverse beside first
2 cables
turret top to convert your gearbox (bolt off old one, bolt on new one)
bracket to locate cable ends on gearbox, modified to mount to F13/15 castings

*the cable bracket on the gearbox will require 1 hole to be drilled on a web on the gearbox casting, photos will be provided.

looking for £100 posted (uk) for the full kit.
pictures to follow.

Looking forward to seeing this..........is it tried and tested, or just a prototype which may or may not work?

sorry, forgot to get photos tonight, and wasnt expecting such a rush of interest.

it is tried and tested, there have been a few folk using this conversion on rally corsas with good effect. this setup has been tried and does work, yes.

as for the "modified from what?" comment, id say it was most likely to be an f17 it came from but cant confirm this, the photo will clearly show the modification, as new boxes must have an extra mount cast into them.

and finally a photo of the hole that needs drilled.

photos include everything that is included, as per the original post.

no setting up required as the cables only attach in the correct position, unlike a mechanical linkage. it is a case of bolt it on and go.

The bracket is off a 1.3 cdti 6 speed box stick and cables will be mk4 Astra items other bit I've no idea l

TBH it all looks like MK4 Astra stuff modified to fit, and if so then i would stick with the convectional rod set up, as i think the linkage in my MK4 is not as direct or solid as the old "crap" Nova one IMO.

well id say the other way, i think the rod setup is very vague, the cable setup is so much easier and cant be adjusted and so doesnt need setup, feels even better with a short shifter fitted to bottom of the stick.
even when i fitted the cav internal shifter to the nova i was never really impressed. anyone have any idea if this idea could be applied to an f28?

does the F28 share the same type of selector turret as an F13/15/17/20?? ive never had one or really seen one, but if so then it should be doable. as long as a shifter exists with the same gear layout
