View Full Version : fan problems
ok so my fans not coming on when it should, i connected the fan straight to the battery and its worked
ive bridged the 2 wires on the radiator sensor but its still not coming on
ive plugged the brown/white into the fan then ran a power cable to it from the battery but its still not coming on
dodgy earth?
i tried using my own earth and using the original power feed and bridging the 2 sensor wires together and still nothing
any ideas
duh lol, any idea what fuse it is as i dont have a fusebox cover atm
fuse 10, its a 20Amp
is it fed from the ign on circuit???

ehm how do you mean?
just checked and the fuse is fine
as in you need the key on to power it up..
it is fed from the ign switch, to the fuse, then the motor, then finally the rad switch, and on to the earth. so is there actual voltage going to the fuse? it is right next to the one that powers the heater blower motor, and if that is working, then so should the rad fan circuit.
i shall check tomorrow cheers mowgli, the heaters work fine btw
im off for a 12 hour nightshift :(
ok so checked it and its the fuse is getting power when the ignition is switched on
the earth is fine on the radiator plug ive checked that
but still when i join the 2 radiator switch wires together i get nothing, no voltage through the feed for the fan :(
either the fuse or fuse holder is shot, or the wire from it is broken
fuse looks fine ill try swapping it for another
bugger trying to trace thatw ire all the way back lol
but its such a pain trying to get to the back of the fuse box lol
is a mk1 fusebox layout the same as a mk2? as i have a mk2 cover lying somewhere
you pop it out off the dash, shove it inwards, & turn it round
mine dosnt sit quite perfect anyway due to the dash change
any idea on the fusebox layout mowgli?
