Nova 1600 Rally Project (Mull Rally 2012)

Alrighty! Got the shell given to me a few months back and decided it to strip her down and prepare her for her first event, The Mull Rally 2012! Totally skint most of the time, progress is slow going :( Plan is to have her finished by September to get MSA Logbooked, Taxed and Insured, being 17 the insurance will be a killer! Plenty of pics to follow! Anyone got any tips please let me know! Keep your criticism to yourself. Cheers! :thumb:

Engine - 1600 8v Gsi on Twin 40's
Gearbox - Standard Gsi F13, With short shift linkage
Front Suspension - Coilovers
Rear Suspension - Bilstien Shocks
Front Brakes - Either Brembo or Mintex pads, on drilled, grooved vented Gsi Discs
Back Brakes - Standard Hub, Hydrualic

All stripped out, almost rust free. Was really happy with the shell!

The next task was to remove and repair the rusty parts :)

They were pretty recked with rust so i cut them out and started making new plates!

Started grinding off the horrible crap under the car and noticed a bit of chassis repair was in order.

How does the car stand now? Have you got many of the parts required?

Car has its cage in, its all painted but outside needs redone as it ran in a few places! :( Getting alot of photos uploaded shortly :) Most parts, need fuel pumps, regulator, seats, harnesess. dont need them just yet. no cash left either :(

After the major repairs were done there was a few "Toys" ordered! Also with the garage being a little damp the shell was primed.

Ive been very lucky to have people willing to help, this engine was given to me, and is getting sent to be rebuilt!
Also a fellow Nova Rally driver had a set of these spare and gave me them, £50 if they work he says! :) :)

Ordered new engine parts for the rebuild. Oil Filter, Timing Belt, Gaskets, Oil Pump, Water Pump, Starter Motor and a few other bits.

You might want to off set the air scoop as the carbs don't sit in the middle but to the right side.
I see you've got the car in Tobermory, spent many a sunday night mid October there getting pissed :d

Got myself a desprately needed dash board and clocks! Bumpers and newish brake calipers, Chuffed!!

The brake calipers. Probably need them checked to make sure everythings dandy. Fitting them with good pads, and the Drilled, Grooved vented dics.
And the new speedometer :) dont know wether it will work.

Yeah mate, Bredalbane Street, top of tobermory, the fire station is there :)

looking good ruaridh, altho i would recommend getting a set of astra 16v brakes, well worth getting! altho you need certain 14 inch wheels to fit over them, i dont know how that fits in with your plans. speak to us on facebook, could donate you a set of calipers if you want?

Was thinking about it Kenny, i know the astra teardrop wheels fit over them but its getting 2 sets with my tight budget, il see how im doing when the cars further down the line. i have a set of gte/gsi 3 spokes which i was guna paint black, and a mate has another set of them too. il need to see :) cheers
