dont think so, although you definately wouldnt be able to see anything if the sun reflected off it lol, police could class it as a hazard. Why would you want a mirror finish bonnet anyways lol

i got a spare one. just think it would be something random...and since when do we get sun in cornwall lol. the police classing it as a hazard was something i thought about...seeing as chrome paint is only allowed to be 70% reflective iirc, but you get kit cars with polished alu bodies

everyone down here ratted them last year...lets see if anyone wants to follow suit and has the patience (and no life) to have a shiny shiny one lol

could always do it to 2500 grit so its like proper smooth...

I know chrome is illegal, however I don't think polished is. Give it a go, if they pull you over, then... Run? lol

i'd like to see just how smooth a nova bonnet is with the pain taken off.... surely it would take an absolute age to polish up mild steel to a mirror finish, and it would try to rust immediately.. go for it... you could always get a huge car bra for it to get to a show....

Is it?

I was unde the impression having a whole car chrome was illegal? :/

Bubba, think, you often old cars with chrome bumpers, the only person the bonnet will distract is you, therefore you might be alright. Try it, will look good! Maybe even bring it to the 'cruise' this weekend lol

Good for you mate. I've been a metal polisher for six or seven years! lol

What I meant was I bet you'll get bored of polishing a bonnet after a day, not polishing in general. There is so many reasons why a bonnet would be a pain in the ar5e but to be fair it would be epically cool. Give it a whirl and see how you get on. Only things to try and avoid is heat distortion and metal staining.

I'd imagine finding a undented bonnet would be your first mission.

I'd love to see it done though.

You could carve a piece of wood into a bonnet; that's random :)
