the seat bar with the two tabs sits in that recess on the first pic (so wants to go forward more) :thumb:

Pull the handle to slide the seat back and pull the frame forward

yeah i can see that, but the runner wont let the seat go forwards enough

Grease the runners, so the subframe will slide forward more...

It feels like it is hitting something metal not that its stiff

The seat frames can sometimes be a right tw@t to get in. I ususally put them in with the base tilted up at the front then wiggle them about til it locates then sort the runners out to get the bar in the groove.

Have you welded something that is now fouling the runners??

Looks like something is fouling the runner where its been welded, but like Rich says tilt the seat back and the tabs go under the back of the runner on the car and allow you to slide thr fronts forward!

There is a clip that Pushes in the bit attached to the car, it has a tab you push down to withdraw the clip, If its in it will stop the seat sliding forward.

It's there to stop the seat slidin back so far it falls off the runners

turns out its the recaro runners were not allowing it to tilt enough to slide under the toothed bar attached to the car. even with them just lined up the seats sat very high! so not a happy bunny right now.

for those who care these are the astra recaros i want to fit,

and these are the sr cross astra recaro (runners)

now does anyone have any idea how to fit them better ?

Pedantic mode, theyre not h'actually Recaro's, theyre Recaro style seats, why not just use normal nova Recaro style seats?

there stamped with recaro in the runners and have a old number sticker lol.

I would, theyre all the same style of seat but its only Ford ones that are gen Recaro seats, they make the bolsters and parts for a lot of other manufacturers, but Recaro on a whole, is, or was originally a Ford company :p

On my manta seats there was no recaro frame at all, I covered the leather and welded the frames directly to the seats.

i was thinking about that, but then there would be no forward/back adjustment

You weld to the top of the GTE runners, mine had all the adjustment present.
