I plan on doing a rebuild on an X18XE1 engine. I've done a bit of searching but cannot find any info on what the measurements and tolerances should be for the crank, rings, cams etc. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Are these things listed in Haynes manuals?
Thanks

Thanks, wasn't sure if things like that were in there.
the bottom end isn't much different to an old small block..
what are you planning to do, just a maintenance rebuild, or modifying it?

You want an EARLY one as the later models were Z18XE
i was thinking of the veccy with the facelift, like '98 onwards.
but for the rebuild, the z18xe & xe18xe1 are internally identical

Would the Z18XE info not be the same? Or are the engines more different than I thought?
I'm not sure what exactly I'm going to do, nothing too extensive though. Want to get it stripped and measured and make sure everythings in good shape first.
I'm not in a rush atm but it depends how long my SMOKEY x16xe lasts!
Was thinking about using 1.6 rods, sticking some arp's in then pretty much standard for the bottom end.
Bit of DIY head work, (though I thought the ports looked quite nice anyway) and some motorbike carbs with Megajolt.
Does anyone know who makes a nice tubular manifold for these engines? preferably 4-2-1. Or have I heard that the baby xe manifolds fit with a bit of redrilling?
Cheers
