Thought I would just put up some pictures of my brothers project. Not a nova but yano.

It's a 1jz-gte Single turbo converted (2.5).

Note the kidney grills...

Note the m3 front bumper...

Rocker covers, turbo and inlet polished by Bubba.

Yes it's a jap engine in a German car.
He's building a BMW e36 drift car, but as he knows these engines (been through 4 of them in another car) he thought he would shove it in there!

It should be all finished on the road within a month.

There an e30 track toy i know that has one of these engines fitted, and i also seen a blue escort van fitted one at a car show last year. They are becoming a populat engine for conversions, this should be a right animal once its done.

Edit- here is one of his project threads.... Only on page 2 though so I dunno if the m5/ascona is in there.

I would scrap every last piece of nova stuff I have for one lol, for me it's sooo much nicer looking than a mk2 escort. My dad have a few mantas and ascona's when I was growing up and I still like them, and the kadett C

The ascona 400r at billing last year was a cracking looking motor IMO it put most of the mantas to shame in the looks department, Although I would put a YBT in it lol or a RB26

Fergal isn't big into the build threads, but here is one on driftworks of the Ascona:

As Stevie said, TotalOpel.com is probably the best place to read of his other creations, and there has been a few!!!

Yeah it was orange, now green as in my above post! Think I'd prefer the Ascona, but wouldn't say no to either!!

I followed that Kadett thread ages ago & thought what a great build.

Dunno if it's the colour or the arches, but it's somehow not as cool as I imagined.

Maybe it's me not really liking wideness...

I know what you mean, to me the Ascona looks more "natural" for want of a better word!

Id like the outcome a whole lot more if he'd stop painting his cars that fcukin green colour lol
