View Full Version : new car....
well after going to see my old wreck of a renault 5 gt turbo, the bidding started at 2 grand, and after a few cups of coffee and a good bit of picking out stuff wrong, i handed over £1400 witch im well happy with, needs some welding and a few other odds and sods to get her back to her former self, the spec is massive, charge cooled , fully forged, roller bearing turbo, the works!, i maybe mad but im glad to go back turbo, see how long before i strip it lol

this is the only pic as i didnt take my camera, and im picking it friday:cool:
Hero! +replol, hero , or mad, one of the two! either way, should be fun!!
It looks good, and must go well with that spec.
1000000000000000000000x better than a base model Nova with stickers.
as you say weigh it in !!! lol

hang on, didn't you get ****ed off with the last car cause you couldn't get anyone to weld it? lol
looks cool though :)
i do miss my old one some times but dont miss fixing the fuking thing f lol

looks cool though :)this needs some work on both sills, and in the boot, its going to a normal garage to carry out the welding as its under the skirts so wont require any body work after, and they will do the m.o.t so i dont have to see it untill it on road:cool::cool:
dimma kit it :thumb:never , worst kit ever made lol
hahaha mine wernt that bad lol
Nice choice alex, looks a nice example

My dad had a raider brand new as a company car when he was sales man for Renault back in the day, I've always wanted one after that but never bought one.
Good choice, is this your old one then?

Wish i had a picture of the bay, one of the best bays i have ever seen, everything chrome with orange pipes, and transparent chargecooler pipes, which look ace when its running. This was sold on locally but now, no idea where it is, rumour has it the police took it off him when they pulled him over and none of his mods were declared, cage buckets, side exit exhaust etc
Theres a grey one thats also local, which has a turbo'd clio valver engine in, only seen it a couple of times due to it being garaged most of the time, but from what i hear its an absolute machine!
is it the same as you sold it mr merris?body work yes, underneath NO lollollol

Sorry dude, cant see why you'd want one, after working on them i cant see why would own one.ive had 14 renault 5 gt turbos, broke most lol, better than a nova, and IMO more easier to work than a nova because they have more oil leaks and keep everything from seizeing up unlike a rottern vauxhall nova, i love all retro cars from escorts to fiat unos, and a change every now and then dont hurt. (and they dont blow cv joints on every bend like a LET nova lol)
So 14 and most broke.. Does that not say anything about them? I'd rather a broken cv over bad running from the single point carb being force fed air from a turbo and a ic that will swell and pop like a plastic bag..lol
And they are no where near as easy to work on..
Retro cars yes and a change can be good.
Id buy another one if I was in market for something fast but tempremental.
Fit a Group A carb FTW though.
