Wanting to wire in a obd2 into my nova just wanted to know what wires are needed to be wired into the plug any help would be great
Red, Brown, Brown & Blue, Brown & White, Brown & Yellow, Ive got a Powerpoint on my laptop Christian ill show you it tomorrow, says where to wire it upto etc :thumb:
You can use one of your existing ignition live red wires & a earth brown wire that you have behind the dash to connect up to it, or run a new wire straight to the battery and one to the battery earth. The other 3 wires connect up to there corresponding colours off the engine loom (the Brown & Bluefor ECU light will obviously have to have 2 wires joined into it so you can still run the dash light).
Red - Perm live
Brown - Earth
Brown & Blue - Dash ECU warning light
Brown & White - ECU Diagnostic Link
Brown & Yellow - ECU Diagnostic light
Get a plug from Mallys and we will do it this weekend, i need one in mine too :thumb:
EDIT: For anyone wondering when engine it is its a X16XE running C16XE Management
The nova isnt obd2 compatible..... The corsa b is barely obd1 lol
I think he just wanrs a diagnostic plug Stuart, as it keeps throwing the EML on but he hasnt got a plug wired in to read them off
Just wire the brown/ yellow to a switch, then the otherside connect it to an earth and watch the eml flash
I was gonna say, you can do anyhting on it bar read the fault codes, which you can do by grounding the brown/yellow... Not really worth the hassle.

Dave is right it keeps putting on the eml and annoying me lol, just wanting to read the. Codes and clear them because when it come on it shuts the engine down
you only need a paper clip or a small piece of wire in the plug & then turn the ign on & count the flashes & pauses.
or get a gunson reader, its a few bob, but you do get a book of fault codes.

You cant clean xe codes. Touch the brown/yellow to ground, count the flashe the ecu light makes. Go to www.topbuzz.co.uk they list them all, then fix.
