Basically as above, probably been solved before but couldnt put a title to it..
i can completely remove my keys and the battery light is still illuminated, and can run a battery flat over the period of a night..the battery is brand new and i have heard these are a common fault.
Any help will be appreciated..
Cheers.

battery cut off switch a cheap way of solving the problem?

well, it would stop the battery going flat, but it won't actually fix the faulty alternator, but if you don't mind resetting your radio & clock every time you use the car, then fit the battery switch.

Not too fussed about clock and radio as only listen to cd's anyway..
will invest in an alternator once insurance is paid for..cheers bud.

It could be the wiring being damaged on the back of the clocks!

That's happened for me before

if the key is out the ignition it will be the keyswitch or the alternator. it wont be the belt
