Hello everyone i got a gte it still has the gte engine in it i was wounderin if i can just put the redtop in would i just have to wire it up and thats it sept the exhaust ?

Imo if your asking those kind of questions then i wouldnt do it atm. Read a few build threads, and online guides, theres plenty about :thumb:

Theres a guide in the articles section of the forum mate.
In short you can use your tank,pump and lines,you can keep your shafts but swap inner cv's for mk2 cav 1.6 items.
Alternator cut out recess in chassis leg,mount kit from valvers.com or similar,wiring is very easy.
Exhaust will need welding

Wiring is very easy on a GTE as you've got it all there already

I made a loom to go from the original GTE to the XE plugs, iirc i got the connector from a 1.7 Cav TD

As people have said though, dont redtop a GTE, and the exhaust you would have to get a different system for a XE

Keep the gte fella, buy a base model 1.0 as a project car and use that as a project and also to learn on
