seems to be a lovely car, there are a few problems rust around the tailgate mainly around the rear wiper and the bonnet has some bubbling rust but you can't see it when its closed lol, also the bonnet release it broken the cable is fine I can open it but the handles slot/catch (were it rotates) is broken.
Hopefully it will be a good little for her when all the little problems are sorted out
Put the engine in a nova :)

Insurance will be a tad high for a first time driver won't it?
have you buckled her in it yet?

Insurance size offs a 450 quid deposit and payments and 10 monthly payments of 160 quid, I'm giving her 50 quid a month to help her out and as I will be driving it aswell seems the right thing to do lol
And I barley get it indoors let alown out side on a bonnet,
Got a couple things to have a look at hand brake light stays on even when the hand brake is fully down, not a lot I can do right now as I need to buy some tools left all my bits back down south with my brother and dad.

No blank lol it stops the exhaust gasses going through the inlet on my transit td. The gasses over time choke up the manifold with a black tar oily stuff which suffocates the engine.

So what does the egr valve do? and what is involved in blanking it off also will this stop the engine warning light coming on
It put soot and crap back through your inlet to keep the hippies in the EU happy. Metal plate bolted to where the valve should be and job jobbed, there will be a way round the engine warning light either connecting the plug into a closed loop or a resistor etc. I'd look round the net, bound to be someone that's done it.

Will it still pass emissions with it blanked off then? need to get it sorted as its mot time in the next couple of months lol
Scott will take the gearlinkage off your hands if its in good condition this one is all over the place lol might get some other parts as well have to make a list

I may need the linkage part for transplant into the loon mate..
The emissions standards you have to pass to get a new car certified etc are far more stringent than MOT testing, by the time a car reaches 60 odd k and the intake is coated with crap they normally run with worse emissions than without EGR and a clean inlet anyway. Particularly bad on diesels where it can literally fill an intake and stop the car running eventually.

I will have a look now mate cheers, stratford is in warkshire isint it?
Looks a tidy motor :)
Egr, lowers the combustion temperature by pumping exhaust gases into the inlet. The reason it runs colder is because the recycled gases don't help the combustion process like clean gases do, thus lowering the NOx levels in the exhaust.
PS the EGR is a **** to get to on baby xe's.
Here is a guide..
