Does anybody know if any cars came standard with blue seatbelts. Like the Cinquecento have red ones?

I've never seen anything but black and pale grey on a nova.

i assume you do mean a nova and not just ANY car right ??

I think he means any car as he did say any cars and quoted red ones in a fiat.

Probably not much use as i can't remember the name of the company now, but there is one that sells aftermarket replacement seatbelts in red/blue/silver and etc.

Not cheap tho.

Thats as about as uselful as cool marty's answer.

The MK3 escort came with blue seatbelts, blue dash, blue doorcards etc.
Not sure what model it was, i had one and it was a basic 1300 but the previous owner had fitted it with an XR3 engine and a different interior.

They wernt bright blue, but were blue.

Can you put belts from a different car ie a saxo westcoast into a nova? or a punto??

Or not possible?

Ben (lurk75)

Yes they will fit, think about it, if people can fit V6 engines into a nova you should just about manage to get a set of seatbelts to fit.

You may need to alter the brackets, but on the other hand you could be able to unwind a Nova seatbelt and wind on the coloured material from the other models.

Go to a scrap yard and have a play, seat belts arent exactly big money items, buy a few different ones and have a jumble about with them.

Or just chuck them under the fence?

One thing i have never done is steal from a scrap yard, plenty do... What you got to remember is that scrap dealers dont play by the rules- you get caught they are unlikely to ring the police and more likely to kick the shit into you, is it worth it for a couple of seatbelts for a fiver?

What you have to remember with all things like that is it worth the consequences? if so yes.

If they give you a hiding and you miss a week of work you have lost a minimum of ?200 wages- that worth ?5- not likely.
If you were taking something worth ?500 and you only miss 1 week of work then it might be worth the gamble.

then again they might gamble that nobody knows you're at the scrap yard and throw you into the crusher.

Punto lights- ?0
Escort Doors-?0
Nova Dash-?0
Headrests 10 of them or so- ?0
1.3SR cams and housing-?0

It's easy around here mate, trust.

However, I'm loosing my knack of it a bit, because I'm buying a mk2 front end tomorrow. Also bought the bonnet vent for the VX220. THink they're the first things I've ever bought from a scrappy despite numerous visits.

I know a fair few scrap dealers- i would rather try holding up the local police station for the tea money than take of them.

Go careful.

Yeh, I know all of them in one, they're some fucking hench bastards. I'm loosing my knack and have got this fear of being caught now, so maybe once more with the seatbelts, but no more big stuff.

Your better off doing it with big stuff as worth the risk, doing it for seatbelts is pointless, most scrapyards would be happy for you to take the seatbelts as they wont sell them to anyone, ring them up before you go and ask how much they want for them.

Paul

The thing is, I'm 100% sure about not getting caught with seatbelts, coz the cars saxo westcoasts are near tha fence, big things ie punto HGT back bumper also is, so maybe them two.

But as I said I do get this fear of getting caught sometimes.

I'd be very careful to anchor the belts tightly, and to the correct torque setting if avalible, you want to trust your belts!

Landy has some dodgy after market allegro ones, they would stop me going through the screen, but wouldn't stop me nutting it one.
