Hi all,
Considering getting some Hatchback 1/4 Panels for my saloon, does anyone know of any fitment issues by any chance ?
If somebody has already done this, any chance of posting a picture on here please ?
Cheers :thumb: :)
they dont fit dont do it. if you want hatchback arches buy a hatchback
Imo you would be committing a crime doing anything to your saloon, let alone chopping up the quarters to fit hatch ones, plus it will look crap
Iirc there was a saloon with a wide arch kit?
Or was I drunk when I thought that?

Looks shat tbh. Most people skrimp and simply use front arches on the rear, which looks crap.
And I believe last time this was discussed it turned into how serial killers should drive saloons lol

The only problem you will have is the way it looks at the end. Don't do it.

i was about to ask as to why a show car means changing the body so much, then i remembered ive built an estate lmao so im going to shut up

Something along the lines of this could maybe look good.

Saloons are wrong "at the end" (rear end) from the factory so nothing to lose lol

3 door hatch and 2dr saloon is  the rest junk lol
I think the front arch looks good but if the arch at the back extended to the rear lights then you will be onto a winner. Probably wouldnt go so wide on the extensions either. Also those wheels make baby jesus cry in his sleep.

It looks wrong as the rear bits are far too long. Flared round arches like the mk1 escort rs is the way forward. Subtle but effective.

A quick photoshop of the wide skirts extended

Yea i take it back, doesnt look that brilliant lol. Would if the wheel was in the centre of the rear quarter but oh well. I think g60 mk2 golf arches would look spot on a loon
Actually mk1 bubble arches would look best.

Something like this is more to my taste, but MK1.

I reckon something more subtle like original m3 would look pretty good as lond as the bootlid had work too to match..
What about mk1 astra gte arch extensions & skirts??

The issue with the rear arches never looking right is down to its hatchback origins. Because the loon is just an extended hatch the rear wheel sits too far forward making it look a little odd with the blister arches as the wheel does not sit in the centre of the rear quarter. If you look at the E30 its rear wheel sits further back level with the bottom of the C pillar so visually looks better. I don't think blister arches will ever look good on a loon, Mk1 Golf GTi arches would be better.

Who has the balls to move the axle back lol
it would make simps rwd loon easier to finish, as its porsche 924/44 torque tube sort of dictates a longer wheelbase...
but a nova loon is very similar wheelbase & track to a mk1/2 escort in standard form...

why not bring the hatch arch so it runs back to the corner... i.e extend it if that makes sense?

Simps is using an S14 floorpan now, but the 924 is close enough to the same wheelbase.

Scott you've bought a Saloon so the reason is ... people are still wanting to really own a hatchback that's why this has happened lol

I bought a loon as i wanted to go low and wide wheels etc, but i could not bring my self to modify the Jam yel any more then i have etc, so i thought sod it totally new project, and a loon will go very low and allow silly offset wheels! lol
