Seat problem !.

Got problem with the wife's Seat Ibiza MK3 1.4L 16v 2001.
On the dash is the EPC light on. When I press the brake pedal the dash and lights on,lights up, if I have the head lights on then the brake lights are permanently on, but work normally if the head lights are not on.
Anyone know how to fix this problem other than buying a other car. :confused:

Has the car stop/tail lights? As in the rear lights shine brighter when you put your brakes on? Like a nova?
If so, I reckon one of the filaments inside the lamp has broken and bridged out onto the other filament. Try taking the rear stop/tail lamps out one at a time to see if it cures it.
I had it once on my nova. every time I put my foot on the brakes it lit up the sidelights and all the dashboard illuminations.
