View Full Version : Fitting Front Seats

Hi all,

I have just got some mk 1 sr seats which I am trying to fit to my car but having trouble with them the go in ok but these seems to be alot of play on the runners I have fitted the black plastic runners is there anything else I need to fit also These is a clip at the rear of the seat what is this used for ?

any help would be great.

Have you slid the seat far enough forward as there was 2 sets of holes in the floor

Hi Yeah slid the seats full forward both holes line up

When you took the original seats off the runners, did you come across 2x White clips at the back of the runners ?

Yeah there where two white clips on original seats.

the white clips must be on the seats.

the little metal clip goes in the rails on the body to stop the seat from being pushed too ffar back.

Im still having problems getting these seats to fit there is still too much movement does anyone have a pic of how the metal clip is located ?

Right its time to get car Motd and im still having trouble with the seats mainly driver side it has way too much movement where the rear hook bit goes it lifts up alot if you get what I mean. Is there anything else I need to stop them moving I have the black plastics fitted. Any pics would be helpfull

Mine always did that on GSi subframes, I always thought it had something to do with the Manta seats that were welded on, but maybe not.

You need to keep the plastic protectors on the rails! Do NOT remove them!
