Guys,

My GSi frontseats have knackered head restraints (the plugs that go in the back rest where you put the head rest in) I have a set of old GSi seats laying around here. How can I salvage the head restraints from the old GSi seats?!

And same goes for the release lever knob on the side,..

Cheers!

The head rest sleeves have two pronged clips that stick out to prevent them coming out of the seat. you have to pull these into the centre of the sleeve whilst pulling up at the same time. If you don't care about the old seats you could butcher around the sleeve to get the out and your good seats you'd have to try and break the clips off I guess to prevent damage.

Don't think it'll be easy though.

I unclipped the material at the bottom of the backrest and slide up the cover enough so I could get my hand up to unclip them and the side tilt bit should slide of but it's a bit awkward as I think a plastic lug sticks out in the metal bar

That's cool, I thought they'd be surrounded by the frame, good to know.

Ordered two new sleeves at the Opel dealer today. So I can 'save' the old GSi seats.
