Ive been offered an ast2 kent cam .
I am running a 1.4 sr block with with Sri head and twin webers and wondering if anyone is in the know about this cam? Is it compatible ?

If not can anyone recommend a cam kit ?

Cheers :thumb:

Cam will be fine

AST2 or Piper 285 and webers are a good combination (I have the latter in my sport)

I had a 285 in a 1400 and a weber twin choke - used to make peak at 7200rpm; good times.

Holy **** that was setup weirdly lol

The ast2 or bp300 are staple basic building cams for an 8v small block :)

Really why?

Making peak power that high up on a simple twin choke..... Not usually seen, unless you aren't telling the whole story.

Well proper exhaust manifold & system too.

Oh and I might have made a 1300 inlet match the 1400 head.

I came across a RR printout for the Sport with Piper 285 cam, peak power was 103hp @ 5890rpm at the flywheel iirc, engine is stage 3, etc (I believe, as I didn't build it)

I wasn't even making 90HP with that, but oddly the following carbed xe drive felt disappointing.

...Probably the way the power curve built steeply in the 1389cc.

Not the best photo of the print out, but might be of use, best I can do at the moment;)
