What is the difference between outer CV's on Nova's?
I've got the 22 spline inners coming soon and want to get a new set of outers as IIRC they were starting to go.
This site sells two types
all models except 1.6
http://www.jandrcvjoints.co.uk/audi/cv-joints/vauxhall-nova-1012131415-cv-joint-new-8293-p-5521.html
and these which are 1.6 only
http://www.jandrcvjoints.co.uk/audi/cv-joints/vauxhall-nova-16-inc-gsi-cv-joint-brand-new-8793-p-5617.html
Will these both fit? Is the only difference the shaft splines it has to connect to (Will be using GTE shafts).
Just want some info before I buy :thumb:
I thought all outers were the same, sure I've swapped some between normal shafts and 22 spline shafts... Hmm

Must be a difference... two prices as well hence why I ask.
i thought the outers were std on all
if i were you, i'd chance ringing them.. they're only brummies, they won't bite or anything...

lol I was just gonna double check and count the splines on the shafts I've got and give them a ring but thought I'd ask the immense knowledge on here first.
the other one is probably a bad parts book translation from a corsa...like usual
All Nova's have the same outer CV's. Corsa's have two different types out of outer CV's.

So if I go for the 1.6 version that should be fine, right?
Think I'll ring them and fine out tbh

I've just counted the splines either end of the shafts and they are deffo 22spline... now that I know I'll give them a bell and see what they say.

Just called them up and going though the whole spiel. Found out that the 1.6 CV's (which are cheaper) are the ones with the 22 splines to fit the shafts and the 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 etc weren't 22 spline.
So I'm assuming that the hub end all fit fine but the inner spline count is different. That must be the only difference.

Yes only the inner splines are different

Cool, that will explain it. Shall order some over the weekend
The splines in the drive flange are the same on all nova's, but the inner ones to fit the shafts are only 22 spline on GSI, GTE, and TD joints. any other ones are different for the skinny shafts

Lovely... the 1.6 cv's are cheaper anyway :d
i'm putting 20p on them being wrong.
I had a spare set of 22 spline shafts out earlier and there were 28 splines on the outer end...?
I got through no end of inners before I got the right ones lol

If they are 22 on each end they are Corsa shafts. Nova shafts will be 28/28 or 22/28 to use on conversions with 22 being on the inner CV end.

Both ends of the shafts I've got are 22... counted twice. Ordered 22 spline inners already. When I called I said the shafts I have are 22 spline. The lady asked a tech colleague to see what ones were waht and I was told the 1.6 items were 22 spines on the inner.

So will Corsa CV's fit a Nova?

You have Corsa shafts then so too long for a Nova.
So will Corsa CV's fit a Nova?
Corsa has 28/28 splines on the lower spec shafts and 22/22 on the 1.6 (conversion) shafts.
Nova has 28/28 splines on the lower spec shafts and 28/22 on the suitable conversion shafts.
Low spec Corsa CV's are the same as Nova CV's. Corsa just has different outer for the shafts people use on conversions.

I'll count to double check and be sure as I was told that the shafts were Nova shafts from a fellow member.
