I am replacing my tiebar bracket spherical bearings as they don't feel too clever (7000 road miles without cleaning etc).

Protec have been very helpful with information however want £33+VAT per bearing.

I have removed the old bearing and they have the code GEG20ES-2RS on the edge. Where would people recommend I get a replacement as they have to be fairly good quality and heavy duty?

Found these for £9.80 per item which sounds very cheap? http://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?products_id=186606

Found these Aurora bearings on Demon Tweeks for a little less claiming to be topmount bearings - suitable? http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/rod-ends-bearings/aurora-specialist-racecar-bearings

Too late, picked up some replacements today from a local bearing supplier. Got two for less than the price of one from Protec so we'll see how long they last.

Originals only lasted a year, apparently you're supposed to clean and give them some love but I was not told originally.

Protec will charge double the price of what a bearing is worth anyway

Fluro bearings or don't bother.

These ones look like they need lubricating (groove around the middle) and the Protec brackets have al little threaded nipple too - what should I be greasing them with?!

Hd lithium type grease.. The sort of stuff jcb's use for their steering joints.. It sticks like hell & keeps the elements out.. Get a decent grease gun & a tube(cartridge) these need greasing at least once a month to keep crap out.

Ps. A reputable local bearing stockist will be able to supply these for low cost.. Don't think for a second that a car tuning part like this is special, all the original people did was look in a bearing book & find one the right size.

Cool cheers, they have rubber seals so hopefully that'll protect the grease from contamination. So press them in and grease via the little nipple, will do that.

If the gun you are talking about is the same one you use for silicone tubes etc then I have one so I'll order myself some lithium grease. Plenty of cheap ones on eBay.

No it's not the same as silicon guns. Look up grease guns.
