i will be doing this soon.

i've bought the tool to remove the hinge pins. but on the doors i've got off the car i cant seem to get the tool through the hinge pins, as if its getting blocked by something. any ideas on what this could be and how i would unblock it.

also what are the best pins to get (do you need to buy new ones?)

any other advice appreciated.

Dude,

This is a simple one really, but I can see your problem. The top hinge is hammered down, from underneath. This means push the rod into the pin from underneath and then using the bar and a hammer, tap it down. The bottom hinge is the reverse. feed the rod in from the top and tap it upwards. The hardest part of this is not hitting the car

If there is an obstruction it is possibly just the plastic cap in the top of the pin, prise it out. You don't need new pins but they are quite cheap so why not.

If your not keeping the doors, angle grinder, knock pins out as you will have plenty of room now and fit new doors!
