rear split seats white clips

Hi,

Tonight I started to fit my sr rear seats and noticed that each side has a white clip that splits into two what are these for ?

i think these clips are meant to be just to stop the seat from wobbling when its clipped in at the top, without them theres alot of excess room in the runner thingy ma doodar
