too big, you need a 7 or 8mm spot weld drill, never used one of those cutters but 10mm's definitely too big

I use the likes of these...

Just a normal spot weld drill would be my choice. If you drill through all the panels, you will have to spend more time repairing the holes. Or the bloke doing the welding will!

I hate those type, I've done loads of Nova parts with this type and it's been spot on: http://www.screwfix.com/p/spot-weld-remover-50g/82964

Having been through the lot, the cutter style ones last for ages on a high speed, but can be hard to centre, normally fine with a centre punch though.

The spot weld drill bits are a lot easier/quicker to use but you really have to slow up on the speed or the little tiny centring drill on them blunts, and when that goes even though the actual cutter is nice and sharp it gets slowed up by the centring bit not going through. If you try and use them on a normal drilling speed you will go through 2 before you get 1/4 of a panel off. For that reason it's also worth buying the hard as nails wurth/other cobalt coated ones. Wurth bits are normally around for about £7-8 each.

Ditto, those type are rubbish Alex, the spring loaded pin skates about, and difficult to cut evenly

I agree with Iain, the type above are the ones to use I have 2 sizes 8mm and 10mm
