Has it been set up, correctlty choked, jetted to suit the engine set up
on a rolling road? Or just pit together?

were the carbs set up for a 1.6?, is the engine standard? Timing correct?.

You can't slap a set of forties onto and engine and expect them to work;)

I know yes it's a standard 16 gsi and the timing is perfect was just a rough idea what to do

Yup, that's near Glasgow right enough lol

Car Tuning Clinic in Edinburgh used to be pretty $hit hot, not sure if they're still there or not though.

Likes of Retro Rides might be a good place to ask. Bound to be someone good out West

As said get it setup correctly or you may just knacker your engine which will cost even more.

On a side not you could have a read of this for the time being: README (http://www.webercarbsdirect.com/v/vspfiles/images/Weber%20Trouble%20Shooting%20Guide.pdf)
