View Full Version : Cv come mot time
My mrs cv joint has started to click as they do when they're on there way out but its almost mot time. Do i need to fix this before the mot? Or will it be an advisory?

It shoild be fine as long as the cv boot isnt split and leeking grease
In my experience, ask the garage how much they'd charge to change it, as it's usually pennies compared to the hassle of doing it yourself.
Vectra needed a CV boot for an mot, not sure why they were so expensive but cheapest boot i found was £27, supplied and fitted by the garage was £30, and it wasn't a split boot
As there's very little extra work goes into changing the joint............
joint has to come off if your changing a boot anyway, unless you use one of those crappy glue on things
I'd replace the joint, sounds like its going to fail soon anyway :)
joints arent that expensive anyway

Can stretch them over the joint using a cone, or air powered fingers :)
