ive got some new cobra bucket seats with runners but dont want to go to cobra to get brand new subframes cos i just dont have the extra cash.
Now i dont think using the cobra runners they will fit straight onto SR subframes without welding will they?

So if ne1 has ne for sale or has ne links i can even find new subframes that are cheapish, please let me no,im bloody desperate!

cheers guys...

Use the SR sub-frames and runners. Just get an engineer to weld two strips of metal accross the subframes (of the correct thickness), drill two holes in them and bolt the seats to them.

Shouldn't cost more than ?20 to ?30 all in.

Both me and my dad can use a welder so that probably wuddnt be a problem marty.

Is it just a case of putting to metal strips on and then drilling the holes to meet the cobra runners?

cheers :D

Another option is to Ring Cobra direct and tell them you have a "show car" They give 10% off to any show car or members of an offical car club.

Not that Ive ever done any blagging honest

Works for me. And when you recommend places to people (mechanics, bodyshops, styling/tuning shops etc) go with them whenever you can, so the people know that they are getting customers recommended by you.
I get a lot of work done cheaper and even had a fair lot done for free for this reason. :D

subframes make you sit up IN THE SKY - NO exageration!

by using existing subframes you retrain the low down feel and also they are in line with the pedals better. cobra frames make me sit miles to one side from the steering wheel

mine sit a lot lower than standard. with the gsi seats (and the same in my sr) i banged my head on the roof over the slightest bump (fuck anoying lol) now with the cobras (universal cobra subframes) theres about an inch or more between my head and the roof.

you can have the subframes bolted to the floor.. or bolted to the nova runners... depends if the seats are bottom or side fixing..
