Its offically under way! Mot is tomorrow to determain what else needs to be done to it appart from epic rust monster :wtf:

so far my arches have been taken right back and are still frilly around the edges! Pain in the **** but cant win em all! more rust damage than expected! but its always worse than what you expect.

Knowing the nova will fail be nice to have a list whats up! Will post pictures later on today of the carnage called rust removal, if i can get on my partners usless computer as my mac decided to die after 4 long years of service.

:thumb: never been so happy spending so much money on a money pit haha!

Meh rust is inevitable... I'd be concerned if lots of other stuff comes up. But it should be 'fun' sorting it out. Look forward to the disturbing pictures lol

you cant do that on your phone though :/ urgh...sorry i didnt post the pictures up last night, Mums partner was taken to hospital so was running around like a headless chicken till about 11pm and since being up since 5am it was a killer! If i get a chance to ill post pictures tonight!

got updates however!!

My freind was up till silly o'clock working on one of the arches. and its looking alot better! rust free just a fair bit more welding to do. He has said it will fail on the front and rear sills on both sides (i expect it being parked up on grass for a year probably didnt help *sigh*) will also fail on windscreen wiper, washer jets (havent worked the whole 3 years ive had the car!) and the fact the bottle hasnt got a lid...but it some where in my garden as it fell off when i took it all appart to try and work out why wasnt working. Will also fail on the cv boot as its split...Other stuff im not sure about. So far its only set me back £110 so im not counting losses too bad yet..

how ever on the search for new doors dependant how bad it fails. obviously if its completely rotted beyond repair im not going to bother as much as i hate saying that...ill be buying another nova how ever.

You got an Android/Iphone? If so its easy to do it

no iphone 4s, used to have a htc though...dang it always the way!

Well.....obviously it failed as was expected...what i didnt expect it was all niggly little things, and things ive done to it that failed it! i.e stickers on windscreen...now removed. And i lowered it and didnt change the shocks so there is alot of movement in the springs...so getting some coilovers to sort. and need new tyres as have the wrong profile on there and they are rubbing..

List as follows
o/s rear light bulb
p/s headlight aim to low
windscreen sticker
windscreen wipers + motor (think its a fuse though)
washers dont work (empty tank and havent worked for ages..dont know why its not the motor)
service break light h/b (not sure what this is?)
drivers side caliper and break leaks (thats because i changed the caliper my self lmao)
o/s rear fog light (bulb)
Cv boot
Front shocks
Springs have excessive movement (because of shocks) (excuse for coilovers)
P/s rear arch failed
p/s o/s doors failed
o/s rear arch was an advisory! which i was shocked about but will be getting fixed anyway!

Over all! not bad i expected much worse lmao! going to take me acouple of months i think to get it on the road, as have to move the horses to their new yard this month and that is costing me a bomb to do it!

Not that bad to be honest, most of that is easily fixable for little money.

First check the fuse for wipers, should be a 30A...if not then it will be the motor. Fit new blades as a matter of course. Does the washer bottle motor definitely work? If so then it can only be the hose or blocked jets.

I will have front coilovers for sale soon if you are interested...PM me :)

Bit of a waste of money on the MOT though surely, as all those things you should have spotted and possibly fixed prior to test?

Not as much of an eyesore as I expected lol once the door and arches are sorted reckon you could get a cheap respray done to tidy it up? Wheels are a good choice :)

That's a tad rotten but not the end of the world. You can buy lower door sills so you can cut the lower section of the door, clean up the inside and weld the new lower section on. Or hunt around for some 2nd hand ones.

No it could be worse! lol bellive you me i nearly made it worse!!! Respray will be happening, 1st plan is sort body work out get it patchy with primer and then take it to audi to have it resprayed (other half works in the body shop and they want to play with it apparrently so got lucky there, just need to pay for paint and he will pay with favors lmao!!!! ohh i took that far when he said that!)

Staying white i think, might keep the black bonnet and roof as always liked that kinda look no idea why. But instead of matt effect paint, i want it all shiny so i can polish it and keep it looking smart (would have an all black car if i didnt drive down country lanes on a daily basis twice a day! would get so dirty so quick!)

And hand'nt thought of this! i might just see if this is something i can do! (well rob can do haha)
