fitted to any mk4 astras?

As I doubt the dog would appreciate being put in the boot of a cav saloon been thinking about another Astra estate, would prefer a mk4 to another mk3, but want to stick with old faithful engine wise

They did fit a 1.7 td to the Mk4, should imagine it is the same basic engine

It was a different Isuzu engine fitted to the mk4's iirc - the early mk4s had the horrid Vauxhall 17TD engine and later ones Isuzu 1.7DTI (16v?)amongst other VX diesel engines.

Yes you could get the proper 8v suzu engine in the Mk4, early R regs had them. But as above most were the 16v version which in my opinion isn't as good.

mk3 astra tds estate chris?

is that not the vaux engine? Or as per other tds models, is it a bmw job?

As for the Vectras, that's what I have just now, no point going for an older lesser version of the same car!

The Astra f came with both the low blow crap the Isuzu Engine till it was replaced with the Astra g. the model variant was tds iirc. Getting a bit thin on the ground now though. Loads of Astra g's with the 16v Isuzu for sensible money now. :)

the 16v isuzu wont run on any old crap you bung in the tank though ;)

Well it probably will but the pump might not like it so much

They are fantastic for works vans. Cos they are heffing slow... If our astra vans had been fitted with isuzu lumps, there would have been a lot of crashes & massive engine failures.... I can't imagine too many isuzus have stripped cambelts jumping canal bridges & changing down on landing, and been sent up the road 1/2 hr later with a cambelt & 2 spare rockers fitted..

The last low blow i drove was an astra van in selby when i was looking to setup on my own.
Greeted with a big house, big front garden 1st impressions were good, then a 10 year old kid driving a steamroller comes to open the gates lol
Drove the van up the road, tried the brakes-pedal to the floor.Went back threw the keys at the bloke and got in my car,"not what your looking for mate?"
Nah-fukking dangerous pal,ive scrapped better than that-thanks for wasting 2 hours of my life coming to this sh1thole.
It was also extremely crap to drive.

Was the inlet and diesel sticker that threw me lol
