E16se no spark??

I just put nova gsi engine in to my mk1 12 merit I have wired it up and am not getting a spark and for some reason the thing black wire on the ecu loom is already a switched live.. I have my permanent live and fuel pump wired up and the pump is priming but no spark I can also hear the injectors tickin when turning engine over.. Can anyone help plz

if the injectors are ticking then the power is getting to the ecu.

do you have a definite supply of fuel to the inj. rail?

is it dizzy or dispak?

Haven't got fuel lines connected yet but injectors are trying to fire it's a dizzy

Just wired up fuel line that's me getting fuel now but still no spark

this is tricky.. the dizzy is also the trigger for the injectors, so if thats working, then it must be a coil or ht lead issue.

are you using the 1.6 coil & amp?

Yes also tried my 1.2 coil but still no spark I have 3 wires on my coil plug and the one on the bottom is a switched live when I connect that onto the coil I get the switched live to ecu is that right

i assume you connected the power into the ecu loom near the original block connector.

if you are putting it thru the coil, i don't think it will give enough power.

with an e16se, the injection loom is pretty much a stand alone. you should not simply be connecting into the coil, as the engine loom controls the coil

Right I have disconnected that wire from the coil and ran my switched live to the single black wire on the loom but still no spark

are you 100% your not getting a spark, got the plug out and earthed it while cranking ect?
