My mate has a c20let with a f23 box,the clutch went so he took the engine out to do it,but he has been to a few shops, which they can't figure out what clutch it is,does he just need a f28 clutch face, with a f23 backing Plate or am I wrong, also what thrust bearing can he use in,would that be a f23 one,as he is running out of options and needs the car back on the road ASAP

i assume he bought it ready converted.

follow the linky on my sig to a decent clutch catalogue. you should be able to work it out, i'm guessing its a vectra friction plate, but i wouldn't have a clue about the cover, there should be part nos on it

A few people i know have fitted C20LET Clutches to Z20LETs with F23s and they dont change the Flywheel so im guessing they are both exactly the same

Yeah he bought it already converted,I ain't seen it yet,how do you tell if it's got the correct flywheel,I do know the f23 boxed have got 14 splines, think f28s have 20,so what clutch setup shall I tell him to get

standard pot flywheel and standard f28 c20let clutch plate and drive plate work perfectly

You can also use the flat fly (I am) - you then use the LET friction plate and the XE pressure plate.
