does kent cams give much power to the 8v engine ? just thinking if its worth buying ?

As its an 8 valve you only have one camshaft...the profile you choose will depend on how much power it will add. Injection engines require careful selection of a camshaft profile otherwise it won't run properly

Not just that,to make full use of a camshaft you must incorporate better head flow,all depends on what you want from the engine.

What induction type
What current state of tune
What use is vehicle required for

These will help to determine what cam you need or even if you do need one.

used everyday
1.6 gte 8v
its got a full exhaust k&n and its had a head skimed ive been told from over owner over then that thats it lol

NVO51, NVO52, NVO61 or NVO62 tops, it is quite mild but anything else will make it drive like a pig. Injection engines with AFM's do not like wild cams

i had a 270 deg kent cam fitted with my Blydenstein B+ head and it did next to nothing wish i went for a 285 deg!!

Cone filter, full exhaust and nvo62 and cr f13 on my old 1.6 8v engine and I was happy with it. Nice and torquey through all the gears. That was plenty of fun for an everyday car.
