I bought a Nova with a C16XE and it cuts out everytime you reach a junction, traffic light etc, i.e. when you slow down and revs drop.
I was told its a vehicle speed sensor (VSS) but I have no idea what they are and how to make them work because I'm useless with electronics.
Any help appreciated.

Its the bit that plugs into the gearbox with the speedo cable. 3 wires off it... live, earth and the signal wire to the ECU
Its just got a speedo cable because it started life as a 1.2 carb
What Novas came with that part?

You want a Nova 1.2 SPi cable, it was the transducer on the bottom

Nope, its where the speedo cable is next to the linkage
ps. I removed a C16XE today so I'm quite clued up for once lol
Rich can you do me a massive favour and post a pic of what this part looks like, cheers

You need this mate
Think one wire to ecu, ign live, earth
Something like that
You're a legend for finding that.
Does the speedo cable just screw on the top of that?
Yep but you need a SPI /diesel nova cable, standard one wont fit
