Hi folks, I am looking into buying a bench top or free standing hydraulic press for doing wheel bearings etc but unsure as to what size to go for ie, 10,20,30 ton?

The biggest bearings will most likely be transit van size.

+rep for any advice:thumb:

Thanks,

David

20 ton is plenty ive had a 15 ton for years and never needed anything more than that

floor standing is better as you have more room to get stuff in and more adjustment levels

30 ton is truck use ect

quite simply, the biggest one you can afford... once people find out you have a press, they will start asking to use it....we use our friends one.. home made from massive steel with a couple of hgv bottle jacks...brutally effective.

Thanks mowgli, I am opening a tyre bay in the next month or so but the unit is big enough to fit ramps to rent out for people to fix there own car, just looking at other tools that could possibly help with to bring folk in and make a bit of extra cash hopefully.
