There was a meet in Ipswich last night, and it really highlighted how much the car scene in the UK has changed in the last 10 years or so. For example, i had the only nova, and there were only 3 other vauxhalls (corsa b, d and astra gsi mk3), but there was around 12 hondas, mostly civics of various ages. To further my point, three of the cars that turned up were volvo 300-series, a car which even 3 years ago was considered only scrapworthy, now theyre worth a small fortune!
Next time, im going to get more novas out!

Were abouts in ipswich was this car meet, didn't know they had any down that way.
I find that up my way too, going to any local meets I'm normally in the only Nova. Still millions of Corsa Bs etc though.
Problem i find with having the only nova at a car meet is that it attract the wrong people, and you get loads of chavs coming over asking you if its got a 'redtop fitted blud' So i just park up and walk away as quick as poss lol. Theres usually 4 or 5 up southend when i used to go up there on a saturday night.

I imagine so, seeing as three Volvo 300s turned up lol
round this way, the only way you'd get 12 hondas & 3 volvos to meet up is if you give pensioners discount & a free cup of tea.

theres another meet tonight, which has over 100 people confirmed from all around the east of england..
i'm trying to find someone to help me fit my coilovers before the meet starts later and im trying to drag my mate along in his mk1 hatch!
same round this way dude there 2 cav gsi's ones mine and the othere my mates, red nova gsi another mates
loads of fuking civics and 4 of them are running turbo setups in them
and all the ****ron paxo's bouncing of limiter's aka 1st gear warriors's f lol

I agree I went to the new year 'crooozzze' in Thurrock to give my nova a run and it was the only one there, one thing though the people haven't changed. I popped my bonnet an there were a good 25-30 hoodrats crowding round stating that it's a 'redtop innit' and so on. Got loads of attention and there were some awesome cars down there from old skool cool vw's etc to newer Nissan gtr's and the like. Not really my scene but I did have a good time and will probably go again, just wish they sorted a decent location other than a supermarket carpark etc!

White gsi rep? & the meet last night was fuuuuuuuuuucking good. only about 7 vauxhalls though but 94783592378569346 honda's and a very nice sierra cosworth lol dont have any pics though as i wasnt even going to go, only went as i had naff all to do lol
EDIT: Dvla check on K95 VHD says it cant be found, scrapped maybe?

lots more variety at this meet than thursdays though!
k95 vhd is green and a genuine gsi lol very much doubt it's scrapped
never seen a green one! seen a blue pov spec mk1 & a white gsi rep but thats it

any meets that i go to its the only nova too it doesn't get many idiots looking at it though just a few people looking round it and a few pics, loads of corsa's but no nice ones and everyones after the volvo's these days as there rear wheel drive and everyone wants to 'DRIFT INIT' apparently lol

Is there a location and date of the next Ipswich cruise/meet? Havent been to something like that in over a year. Or maybe a Thurrock meet?

they were taken on my driveway! it went down Ipswich way but other than a spot quite soon after i sold it, not been seen since. K95VHD is not showing on the dvla website so can only presume that is now on a private plate of some kind. the chap that bought it didn't know of the car at all.

appreciation for Nova's has gone away a little bit. Just the other day i drove past a few clubs and somebody shouted NIIIIICEE CAAAAAAAAAR!! followed by my friendly response of.... YEAH I KNOW!
thats a real shame i would have paid good money for that :(

That's the problem with the effect the old cruise scene left to the nova, rusty knitted tat etc
I hate going to anything like that as you get s gang of spotty teens round your car talking shirt about what you should do to your car lol
There was only a small handfull of novas at retro rides gathering, I was well surprised, but due to this my car got s load of positive attention
