Hi there does anyone know if a mk2 16gsi loom will fit my mk1 dash if not what do I have to do?

why do you want to change the loom? The speedo clocks will have a different plug as the mk1 clocks are 12 pin and the gsi or mk2 are 14 pin

No you need to cut plugs etc

The car is only a 1.2 the now and I have a 1.6 gsi engine and loom for it but not sure what to do

You dont need to change the interior loom, just splice into the required wires needed in the engine bay, only thing you might need to do is route a wire for a tachometer if you have one, if not then no worries. Have a little look in here..

You'll have to take the Mk1 dash out and replace with a nice Mk2 dash. Only way round it I'm afraid, otherwise you'll get cancer.
