... it makes me have bad thoughts of buying a Nova in November.
The projects section is particularly dangerous.
MOT and insurance runs out on my FTO in November.
I'm planning on pulling it off the road for some major work.

Job dependent I may or may not need a car for commuting.
Makes sense to get something I've worked on before but gf would kick my ass if I went out and bought another Nova.
Move with the times, Novas are old hat now. All the cool kids drive Cavaliers :cool:
I'd rather drive a Nova than a FTO.

I bet my 1.8 mk4 Astra has more go then them fto's, lol i remember max power use to have a power chart in the back, and in there words, FTO looks of a super car, but in reality struggles to keep up with mondeos! the only sensible thing they ever wrote in the mag!

The proper model is a 200brake, 140mph motor :wtf:
They are small capacity V6's, pretty revvy engines.
Wouldnt be far behind a mk4 Gsi.
Terrible cars imo, I test drove a couple before I got my mk4 astra gsi, engines sound horrible and the trip tronic crap was shocking

Youre kidding right, there are loads round here and my mates almera (1.6) SRi used to toast them all (and yes theyre the mivec ones aswell) stupidly slow imo :p
This threads about to get awesome lol FTO's aint slow though, I got done by a mates MIVEC when I was in another mates E36 328 Coupe.

Yes, my mate had to scrap his as a kid on a scooter smashed into the front of it & fcuked off. Fcuked all his aircon rad & pipework, front bumper, bonnet an headlight up. Little @unt.

Well the owners of two of them that always used to follow each other round reckoned they were both the top spec 2.0 v6 jobbies, and i was passenger in the almera as he passed both of them at silly mph lol
Fair play if they were trying to claim they were the top flight ones when they werent, but theyve never appealed to me anyways and that impression was justified when a 1.6 seemed to kill two of them in a row:eek:

They're far from my favourite Jap car, but as a midrange 2dr coupe they're not bad (anyone for a Tigra? Thought not lol), fairly light as far as V6 JDM cars go too. They do have to be driven hard to get the best out of though and the torque is pretty naff for a V6. Wonder if a 6G72TT would fit in one :d
On paper it should smoke an XE Cav though; its lighter, quicker, more powerful and will probably be younger.

Tbf if I was after a cheap run about while doing a project I wouldn't be looking at novas there not cheap anymore I'd be after a corsa b 1.5td cheap to buy and run leaving more money to spend on the fto

Sold the carbon bonnet (out grew it)
Can't run the Nakaya tune lip as it'll catch on the wheels.
I painted the wheels for a laugh for JAE 2013, which had the desired effect as someone from Sky Insurance took a pic and posted it on their facebook.
Still no turbo but I'm still buying parts and not in a rush.

Yeah it did, I remember that^
My friend used to have one. Was an import with the V6 MIVEC motor, that really shifted compared to the GS/GR models.

GS is the pony 1.8..
There isn't a lot between the GR and GPX.
Aircon delete and some light wheels and there's nothing between them.
GPX suffer badly on higher mileage motors if they've been hitting mivec a lot. Its not uncommon at our club rolling road days to see the hopes and dreams of many mivec owners crushed when they realise they've dropped a lot more bhp than the non mivecs.
As for the max power chart... Well we all know what a fine piece of motoring literature that mag was lol. Just remind me, was that chart next to the monthly "crooze" skank feature? Kinda sums it up nicely :-D
