To all you nova builders, what have you replaced your fuel line/brake pipes with? Braided and kunifer? Or is there anything better?

When I did my kit car a few year back most people recommend microbore copper heating pipe from B&Q.

Fuel pipes I used new rubber pipes, proper clamps and for the length of the floorpan some nylon/plastic pipe, connected up with brass barbed connectors: http://www.ssldieselparts.co.uk/plastic-nylon-tubing-p-330.html

For brakelines I used braided pipework from MC to each corner with all new unions, everything from RallyDesign. Made the front calipers easier by using the front two from a Goodridge set.

We use copper pipes all the time in the garage but i find after a couple of months they go green an not very nice looking, it would be a shame to go into all the effort i am to then have them go like that. From what i can gather the Kunifer is the better option for corroding etc?

All of my lines im planning to just keep them going underneath, I like the idea of the plastic pipe an brass fittings for the fuel pipe. Do the braided hoses just screw onto a standard brake flare?

I used 8mm microbore for my fuel lines and because I'm lazy, I bought ready made brake lines lol

Goodridge flexis & copper internals through out with aeroquip connections. No need for super heavy weight braided internals when polished & lacqured copper lines look awesome!

I used 3/16 copper pipes, which once painted body colour looked awesome and have never discoloured.

Fuel lines i used 8mm ID braided fuel safe hosing.

I never actually thought about coating up copper pipe with a lick of paint before, good idea gents.

Another thing I forgot to ask before, I've seen braided fuel line coming from the fuel rail on many of your Xe's, have you lot just kept the original fixings an joined onto braided or can you actually buy it all with the threaded fixings ready to bolt straight on? Is the fuel rail fixing not a fancy thread?

If you take the std fuel line apart, the end is just a fitting, so you can fix new lines on. I did.

Yeah it's just a screw in fitting? Is it not clamped onto the rubber pipe?

If you cut the metal bit off that's past the movable nut, you'll have a tube under the rubber which you can connect the new line too like this...
