View Full Version : Finding out bolt thread/sizes

As I'm slowly rebuilding a fully stripped car after lets say "several" years, most, if not all the original bolts etc are gone/lost or rusted out.

Is there any way to find out the correct sizes so I can buy new ones? For example I want to replace all the outside bolts etc on the engine with stainless steel ones so on and so forth. I know I can buy kit off the bay but when I've got a huge supplier down the road I can get them all cheaper myself (even cheaper from stores ahem) I simply can't be arsed with trial and error.

Any gen? :thumb:

Just in case anyone knows of the top of their head the motor is a C20XE.

If you had GM Epc on your pc you would be able to look up every bolt from engine and car, you can get copy from ebay, its what I did and saves so much time and cash in the long run
