just had my e16se on the modis for the first time. came up with these codes:

36 ron coding circuit

and i think 95 engine load voltage low

i cleared the codes and went out for a drive, came back and put it back on a scanner and the ron coding circuit came back up :thumb:

does anyone know what these are?

the ron coding is a simple timing advance/retard device..
its just the resistor in the ron plug. maybe try fitting another one from a scrapper.

just swapped it over to 98, after trying another one, and also swapped my ecu's and now its running well again, flat spot is gone :) will get it back on the modis soon

curtoise, the thing about e16se engines is that the jetronic injection is so basic that it doesn't really store multiple codes, it puts a fault light on, and you short out the terminals (split pin) and count the code. if you fix it, you need to do a fair few ign on/offs to clear it, then if there is another fault, you start again..etc..

i see what you mean mowgli, luckily i have regular access to a modis so that saves a fair bit of hasle, started pinking again lastnight as the ron plug is now on 98... so if i retard the timing slightly on the dizzy i should have found a happy medium
