I've got some coilsprings im planning to fit to my loon asap, but a mate reckons i'll need new top mounts, since its a B reg. how true/important is this?

All nova top mounts are the same, your mate is a bellend

you will only need the posh adjustable topmounts if you try and go lower then 10000000mm lower, but this is also not really needed, my loon ran about 110mm, with just the normal camber adjuster bolts, worked fine :)

ok cool :) the coilies go 20-100mm, thinking of running them at around 65-70, so i have some compression left in them :P

I thought it depended on the design of the coilover whether you can use OEM top mounts or concentric/eccentric mounts?!!

if you really want to change the top mounts use mk3 astra ones. dervy proved it gives you an inch of drop

Me too, wasn't aware of you being able to run the alloy topmounts on standard strut/spring setups due to the size and clearance.

Maybe he means fit new ones cos the old ones will be knackered? I'd assess their condition when they're off instead of fitting some for no reason

tbh i average 5000miles a year and my loon has 61000 miles on it, so the top mounts should be ok for the job..
not keen on spending another £100 if i dont have to!
Yes Jake!

Coiles fitted on the front :)
it was a bit of a b*tch getting the top mount off until i went and bought the right tools for the job!
