e16se cambelt

can anybody confirm for me that all e16se engines had a water pump with the metal back plate? also, how many teeth does the cambelt have? got the choice of 104 or 111 toothed belt, thinking the longer one is for the later engine?

the later one goes round a tensioner as well i believe so would have to be longer

the proper water pump for the e16se had the silly metal disc that was part of the cover.. i have run mine with a pump that doesn't have the silly disc for years with no problems whatsoever, as long as it has the right tooth shape, it will be fine.

thanks for the replys, id assume the plates there to stop anything going into the belt.

i think thats right burgo, i just didnt want to buy 2 of the pump and 2 of the belt and then have to take the ones back.
